This is my 5 year anniversary living in San Antonio. In some ways I can't believe it's already been that long and in other ways, it seems like oh so much longer. I definitely feel like San Antonio is home now and I think I'll stick around awhile longer. In honor of my anniversary, I thought I'd share the top 10 most important things I have learned about
this my fine city with all of you!
- SA is home of the best margaritas and Mexican food.
- If you fall in the river, don't panic, just stand up.
- Go Spurs Go! (Don't bother cheering for anyone else here. Trust me!)
- Let's Rodeo San Antonio!
- Fiesta is a 10 day party you don't want to miss. (But do beware of confetti eggs, no uncovered head is safe.)
- Friday's traffic starts on Thursday afternoon. (And Thursdays are just bad, bad, bad anyway.)
- If there are 3 or more drops of rain, add an hour to your daily commute.
- A flurry or even sliver of ice on the roads and the ENTIRE city shuts down.
- It is amazing how fast you can adjust to the heat.
- You need a coat any time the temperature dips below 80.

Happy Anniversary! I think that's a nationwide phenomenon with the rain and travel times. It's a major thing here in Pittsburgh too!
Happy anniversary!
Seriously? Below 80? You've wimped out...
Cheers to five great years in your fine city! I was there two summers ago and loved it- albeit crazy hot!
That is one place I have always wanted to visit!! Sounds wonderful.
YOu made me laugh with your drops of rain comment!
Fun list! I have only visted once but loved it! I have heard that is true about the river, LOL!
Happy Anniversary!! You would never survive up here... 80 is nothing! ;)
I have never been to San Antonio. Sounds like they handle snow and rain much like the rest of the south.
#7 is true here too! And heaven forbid we see ice or snow! Gasp!
My BIL and his wife live in SA. It really does have some good eats!
Happy Anniversary!
Seriously!? That is hilarious- about the rain and the river especially!
My parents live near there and I love it. I would hate to drive in it but I love the Riverwalk and such.
Isn't it amazing when you stop to realize how long you've actually been someplace.
Some of your list items are the same for Phoenix, too!
Thanks for the info
